Keynotes

Brian Goetzinger was selected for Kennedy Center Summer Music Institute.

Brian Goetzinger, a junior violinist from Rapid City St. Thomas More HS will spend four weeks in Washington DC with the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center. Brian was the winner of the 2010 Black Hills Symphony Young Artist Competition.

Now is the time to send in dues for the 2010-2011 year. The dues amount remains unchanged this year.

The Joanne Messerli Percussion Project

To honor Joanne Messerli, long time supporter of the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra and Symphony League, the League has established this fund with the primary purpose of raising money to purchase percussion instruments for the Orchestra. Gifts totaling $2500, given in Joanne's memory have initiated the project.

Why Start the Fund?
In the Symphony's 75 years the percussion instruments have been borrowed from the city's public schools. Now it is time for the orchestra to own percussion instruments. Bruce and Jack Knowles and the orchestra's percussion section have prioritized their "want" list.
