Nancy Williams

Biography
EDUCATION:
Masters of Music in Clarinet and Woodwind Performance, University of Missouri-Columbia
Bachelor of Music Education, South Dakota State University

HOW LONG HAVE YOU PLAYED WITH BHSO:
I've been playing as needed since I moved to the area in 2000, and I'm always happy to do so!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR INSTRUMENT:
We had a clarinet in the house from when my older brother played it, and when it was time to start band in 4th grade, I was excited to play it.

HOBBIES/LEISURE ACTIVITIES:
I love getting out in the Hills for hiking, camping, and kayaking! I also enjoy cooking (and eating!), reading, and scrapbooking.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I love my job, which is teaching and performing. I teach clarinet and saxophone lessons, and it is a joy watching my students improve and learn to express themselves musically. In addition to performing with BHSO, I perform clarinet in several ensembles, including a woodwind quintet, and recently co-founded the clarinet choir "Clarinet Madness." I am also a freelance saxophonist and play with several jazz ensembles.
