Support your community symphony
Every dollar we receive goes a long way...
no matter how small or large the contribution.
Because the ticket income only pays for 34% of our expenses, this means the remaining
66% of our budget relies upon gifts and grants from individuals, corporations and
government agencies. Fortunately we are able to continue to hear the beautiful sounds
of the strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion because of the support we receive from people like you, however, each year it becomes more and more difficult.
There are various ways you can help support:
General Support Contributions
Any contributions are appreciated and help to close the gap between the amount it actually costs to present a concert and the amount the Symphony earns. Without the generosity from contributors, we would not be able to carry on the musical tradition of our orchestra. Your contributions make the Symphony prosper and bring prestige and beauty to Rapid City and the entire Black Hills area.(back to top)

Concert and Guest Artist Sponsorships
By sponsoring an entire series, a certain concert or guest artist, you are helping to insure that those specific costs are met. A gift of this type, beginning at $1,000, benefits the orchestra, as well as the sponsor and the audience.(back to top)

Chair Sponsorship
By sponsoring an individual chair, you are not only supporting one of our fine musicians but also helping to ensure the ongoing entertainment by the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra, which consists of approximately 90 regular members. Your gifts, ranging from $250 to $1000, go directly to support the orchestra members.(back to top)
